Solo Three Day Canoe Trip to McKaskill and Dickson Lake in Algonquin Park
A three day solo kayak trip starting from the Crotch Lake access point in Algonquin Park. The first night was on McKaskill Lake, second night on Dickson Lake and then back through Booth Lake to complete the loop. This is a very quiet route with long portages. Though they are long, the portages are not too difficult with not much climbing. However, the 4.8 kilometre portage from Dickson to Round Island Lake does have a long steady climb for about two kilometres. The other portage of note is the Marshy Lake to Presto Lake. This portage goes through some pretty rocky sections and the trail can be hard to follow. Also, there is a section where there is no bridge crossing a creek where you will have to either paddle the short distance across or wade through. Music: Frost by Trey Anastasio
