Bingham Level Crossing, Nottinghamshire

Date filmed: Wednesday the 24th of September 2025 Route: Nottingham to Grantham Line Bingham (BIN) is the closest station Crossing type: Manually Controlled Barrier crossing with Obstacle Detection (MCB-OD) Filming location: Chapel Lane / Kirkhill, Bingham (NG13 8GF) A busy obstacle detection level crossing located in Bingham near Nottingham. It dates back to late 2015 / early 2016's re-signalling, and is one of a few in the area to have obstacle detection and four alarms. The old signal box also still stands as a reminder of before. A whistle board (on the Grantham-bound line) for the benefit of a nearby foot crossing is right beside this crossing, and some of the train horns for its benefit get sounded as they pass over the crossing! This was certainly a remarkable one from this trip.
