Hull Road, Taylor Road, & Williamson Road Level Crossings, Lydd-on-Sea (Kent)

Date filmed: Wednesday the 22nd of October 2025 Route: Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway (RH&DR) Between Romney Sands & Dungeness Stations For more information about the railway: https://www.rhdr.org.uk/ Crossing type: Automatic half Barrier Crossing Locally-monitored by traincrew (ABCL) Filming location(s): 1) Hull Road, Lydd-on-Sea (TN29 9PE) 2) Taylor Road, Lydd-on-Sea (TN29 9PE) 3) Williamson Road, Lydd-on-Sea (TN29 9NT) Featuring: ‪@RH_TransportPhotography‬ A video featuring the trio of public highway level crossings in the pleasant coastal village of Lydd-on-Sea, found between New Romney and Dungeness on the 1/3 sized Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway. All three level crossings have been barely altered since their conversion to half-barrier, all still retaining their 'GEC Traffic Automation' incandescent (halogen) lights and German-style 'Pintsch Bamag' barriers. They are near identical in terms of set-up and look to their surroundings, but are great to witness activating for the miniature 1/3-sized trains that use them. Hull Road can be noted to have a failed amber light at the time the video was filmed, and Williamson Road seemed to provide a strange relay-based alarm glitch with one stuttering at points during the sequence, and even cutting out entirely for a second or so!
