US 50 West Over Monarch Pass in Colorado

We begin just west of Salida, CO near Poncha Springs. We take US Highway 50 West up and over Monarch Pass. The winding road over this 11,312 foot pass offers scenic views of the surrounding landscape. Once we descend from the pass, we enjoy a peaceful drive through the high desert countryside to the west.
