Printsleo3d.com °°°Join the Discord °°°°   / discord   Addendum: MAJOR UPDATE : Most of the metal dual geared extruders on the market currently suffer from a similar fault. The gear that sits within the tensioner arm is resting directly on said aluminum arm. There is no washer or bearing between these two pieces of metal. As printing occurs and extrusion begins, this gear will be rotating constantly and begin eating away at the aluminum arm it sits upon! After many prints you may begin to see blast dust collecting around the extruder arm, that is the metal filings being shaved off by the extruder gear. This is a major design issue, causing not only metal filings and particulate to dispense over your motor but also will drop the height of the second gear meant to push filament and could cause it to not properly hold and grab the filament. For this reason, and the high likelihood of failure, I would hazard against purchasing the All-Metal dual geared extruders and instead stick with the encased plastic BMG clone style extruders. If you are set on buying an all metal dual geared extruder please do as much homework as you can and find out if the second gear that sits within the tensioner arm is resting on a bearing/spacer so it does not grind away your extruder. Around 25:17 of the video I talk about "Millimeters per second" when what I am meaning to say is "Steps per millimeter". It's a minor error while recording but it's an important mistake to correct.
