Introduction to Inelastic Neutron Scattering at ANSTO
ANBUG-ANSTO lecture series on Inelastic Neutron Scattering, presented by Dr Kirrily Rule from ACNS. This talk introduces inelastic neutron scattering – and outline the capabilities available at ANSTO. We will cover different types of excitations and what this can reveal about our materials – from phonon propagation of heat and sound to magnetic excitations as a new form of ultrafast spin-state propagation. Understanding dynamic processes can help us better design new thermoelectric materials and spintronic materials for information storage and information transfer.
