Energy Filter Neutron Spectrometry

ANBUG-ANSTO Lecture Series on Inelastic Neutron Scattering, presented by Dr Anton Stampfl from ACNS. ACNS houses five spectrometers, a time of flight and backscattering spectrometer, a cold and thermal triple axis spectrometer and the so-called Be-filter spectrometer. The latter two spectrometers are available on Taipan. Both use the same monochromator but the analyser may be changed between a double focusing set of PG crystals and a set of low band pass energy filters, making it into two very different types of instruments. The former predominantly used for single crystal studies and the latter for high throughput powder studies.
