Professor Ian Woodward reflects on the 'altitudes' of leadership for the leaders of tomorrow. Professor Ian C. Woodward directs INSEAD’s global senior leadership course - “Advanced Management Program”. Teaching, research focussing on strategic leadership and communication, together with leadership transformation for global business leaders. He uses innovative leadership development techniques related to human “drivers, blockers and values” and created the “communication intelligence” concept. He delivers innovative arts-based learning experiences for executives (being Associate Conductor of Singapore’s Metropolitan Festival Orchestra). His research is published in international academic journals, and was formerly Associate Faculty Director of Columbia Business School’s Senior Executive Program. Before academia, his career included Board Directorships, Chief Executive, Senior Executive and roles in government, the financial sector, energy and broadcasting sectors.
