TRIBUN-GOWA.COM — The Head of the Gowa Regency Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land (Perkimtan) Agency, Abdullah Sirajuddin, has been named a suspect. He has been named a suspect in a case of alleged gratification and extortion in the processing of Building Permits (PBG) and Certificates of Functional Worthiness (SLF). The suspect designation was announced by Gowa Police Chief, AKBP Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman, during a press conference at Gowa Police Headquarters on Jalan Syamsuddin Tunru, Somba Opu District, Gowa Regency, on Thursday evening (June 18, 2026). The Police Chief was accompanied by Acting Head of the Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Arman, and Head of the Gowa Police Corruption Unit, First Inspector Agus. Senior Commissioner of Police Muhammad Aldy Sulaiman stated that the case began with an in-depth investigation. From the investigation, police discovered that funds had flowed into an escrow account used in the practice. According to Aldy, the total funds in the escrow account reached Rp1,861,320,000. The suspect allegedly solicited and received illegal funds from housing developers, retail businesses, consultants, and corporations processing PBG and SLF permits in Gowa. The suspect did not use his personal account to carry out his actions. Abdullah Sirajuddin is suspected of using the account of an honorary employee with the initials FSZ as the escrow account. However, the police have not yet named FSZ a suspect, but he is a witness. Abdullah Sirajuddin is being charged with multiple charges for his actions. These include Article 12, letter e, of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001. In addition, the suspect is also charged under Article 11 of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code concerning continuing acts. The maximum penalty is 20 years imprisonment.
