TRIBUN-GOWA.COM — The Head of the Gowa Regency Housing, Settlement Areas, and Land Agency (Perkimtan), Abdullah Sirajuddin, has been named a suspect. The Police Chief was accompanied by Acting Head of the Gowa Police Criminal Investigation Unit, First Inspector Arman, and Head of the Gowa Police Corruption Unit, First Inspector Agus. "It began with an in-depth investigation into alleged systematic abuse of authority at the Gowa Public Works and Housing Agency (Perkimtan) in processing PBG and SLF permits," Aldy said. According to Aldy, the total amount of funds transferred to the escrow account reached Rp1,861,320,000. "We emphasize that this is only the initial figure found in one escrow account," he said. He explained that the suspect allegedly solicited and received illegal funds from housing developers, retail businesses, consultants, and corporations processing PBG and SLF permits in Gowa. The money was allegedly used to finance official activities and as transaction fees to expedite the issuance of permits. The suspect did not use his personal account to carry out his actions. Abdullah Sirajuddin is suspected of using an account belonging to someone with the initials FSZ as an escrow account. FSZ is known to be a staff member or honorary worker at the Gowa Perkimtan Office. However, the police have not yet named FSZ a suspect, but rather a witness. "FSZ is a witness and is cooperating in assisting investigators in uncovering the entire chain of command of suspect Abdullah Sirajuddin," said Aldy Sulaiman. Investigators have questioned 58 witnesses from within the Perkimtan Office, consultants, the developer, and four expert witnesses. The confiscated evidence includes: first, the decree appointing Abdullah Sirajuddin as Head of the Gowa Perkimtan Office. Second, three mobile phones containing digital traces of transactional communications. Third, permit documents in the form of a building plan and minutes of consultation. Fourth, the SP2D (fund disbursement order). "And fifth, a BRI bank statement in SFZ's name as the recipient," he explained. Abdullah Sirajuddin is charged with multiple charges. Among them, Article 12, letter e, of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption, as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001. In addition, the suspect is also charged under Article 11 of the Corruption Law in conjunction with Article 64 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code concerning continuing acts.
