Marsfjällen | Lappland, Sweden

I started my 2026 hiking season in Scandinavia with a 5D/4N loop hike in the Marsfjällen Nature Reserve in south Lappland. As I arrived Kittelfjäll 18:30 by bus and didn't find any serene tent spots along the Vojmån river (most are geared towards caravans/motorhomes etc), I decided on an evening hike up to the ridge above Kittelfjäll, near Borkafjäll, to camp there. A windy spot, but magnificient views of the Kittelfjäll valley & mountains to the north, and of Rissjön & mountains to the south. As such, this became a 5D/5N hike. Marsfjällen is beautiful and well equipped with nice cabins (Marsfjällskåtan & Blerikstugan) for those who prefer such over a tent. On this hike I tried out some new things, e.g. a new tent (Hilleberg Unna), new leather shell boots (Lundhags), a 10W solar panel and my home-made velcro-attached/removable base layer pants. More about those gears in the next Gear Update (Nov). Hope you enjoy the video. Cheers Retiree in The Wild
