Madeira | the Sunny CloudCatcher

Spent 8 days on the island of Madeira (Portugal) in May 2025, doing day hikes with Funchal as base. The micro climates in the different areas of the island are amazing: e.g. the north coast and highlands catching most of the clouds rolling in with the dominant NE wind, resulting in non-tropical and misty rainforests in the north, while the south remains much more sunny with less rainfall. A few interesting species of birds of prey are often seen, but it was a bit of a challenge to capture them in flight. Hope you enjoy the video. Cheers Retiree in The Wild
