Komodo Diving | Indonesia

Komodo Island has long been on my wishlist, and I finally made it there for 4 full days of diving in May 2026. Diving in Komodo involves sometimes having to fight, not just drift with, the strong, and ever so often shifting, currents. Its location between the Pacific and the Indian Ocean means a huge amount of tidal water passes thru the area, thus the strong currents around numerous pinnacles and islands. But currents also means nutrients, and with it, a great diversity of marine life. Diving in Komodo was a truly great experience, well worth the effort. Hope you enjoy the video. Cheers Retiree in The Wild P.S. this was my 1st full dive trip using my regular smartphone as 1 of my 2 underwater cameras. However, in some clips I forgot to use a red filter below 5m depth, which made for difficult color correction in post-edit 🤦🏻 Next time I won't forget! Also, on the next dive trip I should at least shoot in LOG format, to hopefully make color correction easier.
