Así es como damnificados en La Guaira buscan sobrevivir a la crisis económica por los terremotos
After the double earthquake of June 24th in Venezuela, many victims have found a desperate way to survive the economic crisis among the rubble of collapsed buildings. On Caribe Avenue in La Guaira, groups of people search through the demolition debris, trying to find aluminum, iron, and other metals they can sell by weight to buy food. “What are we going to do? We have no work, we're homeless, we have nothing,” declared one of the young men recycling materials at the site. Another recounted, “I have to be here, look, and I feel ashamed to do this, but what else can I do?” The collected materials are sold in Catia, Caracas, or at local businesses that pay by weight. The 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes that struck the Latin American country have claimed the lives of more than 5,200 people and injured more than 16,000, worsening the situation in a country that has suffered for years under the Chavista dictatorship. #NTN24 | More information at http://www.ntn24.com | Or in Venezuela at http://www.ntn24america.com Subscribe to our channel: / ntn24 Follow us on our social media!
