Make A "Metal Bearing" Bow Drill Bearing Block For $5
If, like me, you have everything but the bearing, you can make this build for less than $5. Go into ACE Hardware and ask, for an 1 1/8" x 3/8" bearing. (Sorry, but, I don't remember what the name of this type of bearing is and was unable to pull it up on ACE's web site.) The tools and materials you'll need are: 1 1/8" spade bit, knife for whittling, sand paper block, and a scrap piece of 2x2 or 2x4... or any piece of 2" stock. This video is a complete 'How To' on building a simple frictionless bearing block... Please SUBSCRIBE at the end of the video. Thanks!
