Déjeuner à la Villa René Lalique ** - 24 mars 2016

Nestled in the heart of a 6-hectare park stands the Villa René Lalique, built in 1920 by René Lalique, who stayed there with his family whenever he visited Alsace. In 1945, after René Lalique's death, the villa was occupied by his son Marc, and then, from 1977, by Marc's daughter, Marie-Claude. In 2008, the Swiss group Art & Fragrance, headed by Silvio Denz, acquired the Lalique crystal factory from the Pochet group and restored it to profitability. This businessman, who owns the largest collection of vintage Lalique perfumes and is a great connoisseur of wine and fine dining, then planned to revive the "Villa" as a luxury hotel complex. It was by chance that he met Jean-Georges Klein in mid-2014, who was then embroiled in the Arnsbourg family dispute. Silvio Denz shared this project with him, and Jean-Georges Klein embraced it almost immediately. Originally planned for early July 2015, delays in the renovations postponed the opening date. Finally, on September 18, 2015, guests were able to discover this new version of "Villa René Lalique." This Thursday, March 24, 2016, it was our turn... and it was a fabulous culinary and human experience! Many thanks again to the entire Villa René Lalique team, especially Nicole & Jean-Georges Klein, Nicolas Multon, Jérôme Schilling, Michel Scheidler, Patrick Meyer, Romain Iltis, Florine... for their availability, kindness, and patience.
