Young's Hut Circuit, Day Two, Young's Hut to Brandy Creek Trail Head via Derrick Hut - February 2026

Day Two of my Young's Hut Circuit up in the Alpine National Park saw me walking from Young'sHut Bach to the Brandy Creek Trail Head via, Dibbins, Derrick and Spargo Huts. Today was a fairly long walk with a fair bit of vert however the tracks were all good so the distance passed by surprisingly easily. The views this morning from the edge of the Bogong to Hotham Pole Line were the best of the walk I think, however once I dropped down to Cobungra Gap I found myself in cloud that didn't lift... so from then on it was all about the atmosphere as the old mountain huts materialised out of the gloom.
