The Big Move: From Ontario to an Off-Grid Outport in Newfoundland

We finally made the big move! After years of dreaming, we packed up our life in Ontario and traveled over 4,700 kilometers by car and ferry to settle into our new off-grid home in a remote outport community in Newfoundland. 🌲🏡 In this first episode of our journey, we share the raw emotions, stunning scenery, and the reality of moving into a house many Canadians wouldn’t believe still exists. It’s the beginning of a brand-new lifestyle — one that’s connected to nature, self-sufficiency, and family life off the grid. Like many, we were inspired by channels such as @OutdoorBoys to start sharing our own adventures. This video marks the very start of Rugged Rock Outdoors — a family vlog about off-grid living, survival camping, fishing, hunting, and Newfoundland traditions. 👉 Watch more of our adventures: 🎣 First Cod Fishing Trip: [link] 🪵 Building Our First Wood Stove: [link] 🫐 Berry Picking & Preserving: [link] Whether you’re curious about off-grid living in Canada, rural Newfoundland, or just want to follow a real family taking a leap of faith — welcome to Rugged Rock Outdoors.
