Pioneering My Alaska | A Homestead Documentary | Part 1

My name, Ty At 29 years old I have realized my purpose in this world. My desire for Adventure, Independence, and Freedom. To rely on my own skills and determination, to grow, provide and hunt for the sustenance I need to survive.  I have spent my life in the Phoenix Metropolitan area where summer temperatures can reach 115°F. With a background in the trades and a good work ethic, I'm trading in the extreme heat for extreme cold, and a life surrounded by modern technology to a life more connected with the natural world. This documentary is the prologue of this new life I am building for myself. “There is a pleasure in the pathless woods, There is a rapture on the lonely shore, There is society, where none intrudes, By the deep Sea, and music in its roar: I love not Man the less, but Nature more, From these our interviews, in which I steal From all I may be, or have been before, To mingle with the Universe, and feel What I can ne’er express, yet cannot all conceal” -Lord Byron GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/432d03b1 Patreon:   / lifeonfishcreek   (Edit): Because many have asked for more information. History- This is my land, 7 acres on a salmon creek. I found an online listing in December of 2022. Purchased in January 2023. I had never even set foot in Alaska before. I had been to Northern Montana earlier that summer of 2022 and I knew I had to move north. Where? I didn't quite know yet. I spent many many hours searching for land in northern Montana, Idaho, and Alaska. When I found this land for sale, something inside me knew it was gold. I wasn't able to step foot on the property until July 2023, a very wet year, and the mosquitos were at their worst. Spent the day walking around with my rain gear on and net over my head, in complete awe of the wildness and beauty. I was pleased to find that the majority of the land was 10 feet above the creek and I couldn't find anywhere that wasn't draining water. I spent some time walking in the creek and had a king salmon swim between my legs. I knew at that moment I had made a great choice following my intuition. I have no experience in homesteading or living off grid, but thanks to my amazing family who have taught me how to think through problems, learn quickly, and work hard; I know I can accomplish my goals and live the life I dream of living. Future Plans- I am currently back in the desert of Arizona. I have some things I need to attend to here, such as finishing the remodel on my house. I may not be a very frequent poster of videos until I can be up there full time. I am planning on my next trip which will be a form of cutting in a snow machine trail(for hauling in building material over winter), building a bridge over the creek, and pulling stumps and compacting the dirt in the area I plan to build my cabin. The trip after that will be a mid-winter material hauling trip. And then finally I plan to sell my house in Arizona and make the final move to Alaska to build and stay for good. I hope to have all this done and start building by spring/summer of 2026.
