Stitched Seasons Book Binding Christmas Card with a Surprise Inside Day 3 Christmas in July

Welcome to Day 3 of the Christmas in July Challenge at Stampin’ Among the Gum Trees. Today we’re making our first fun fold of the series — a beautiful book binding Christmas card with a surprise inside. If you love handmade Christmas cards that look fancy but are actually very simple to make, this is a lovely project to try. A book binding card is an easy fun fold card design that stands beautifully, uses Designer Series Paper perfectly, and gives you plenty of room for a feature image, stamped greeting and pretty embellishments. For today’s Christmas card, I’m using the gorgeous A Stitched Season Designer Series Paper, along with coordinating stamps, dies, ribbon and buttons from the Stitched Seasons Suite. The quilt-style Christmas papers give this card a warm, cosy, homespun feel, and the stitched stocking or Christmas tree feature on the front makes it extra sweet. This is a great project for beginners who are ready to try their first fun fold, but it’s also a handy Christmas card layout for experienced card makers who want something quick, pretty and easy to repeat. You can make it in traditional Christmas colours like red and green, or soften it with the lighter patterns in the Designer Series Paper pack.
