Hearing, while related to the vestibular system, is not actually the vestibular system. Nonetheless, loss of hearing can result in balance issues. What is measured in a hearing test is not the same as how your brain uses what you hear to make sense of the world. Auditory processing can be present even in those without hearing loss.
