Welcome back to my daily life vlog in China. Today was a relaxing Sunday. I ordered lots of cheap fresh groceries online, including steak, cod, vegetables and other ingredients. I had leftover food in my fridge that needed to be used up, so I planned a steak dinner for myself. This was my very first attempt cooking steak! The first piece did not look good at all, it was a total fail. I learned many useful cooking tricks while watching tutorials online, like never washing steak and patting dry with kitchen paper. When adding butter, turn off the fire to prevent the meat from getting tough. I also marinated steak and cod with special seasoning for 15 minutes in advance. Luckily, the second steak turned out absolutely perfect! I cooked side dishes with peas, cauliflower and other veggies using leftover butter in the pan. I also pan-fried marinated cod afterward. The two steaks only cost around 5 dollars in total, such an affordable homemade dinner. My cat loves checking every new grocery item I bring home, it’s such a cute little partner in my daily life.
