Route 66 - Springfield to Chelsea - Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma | Solo RV Travel and Adventure GPS

I continue to travel Route 66 west during the centennial year. This segment runs through three states - Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma - from Springfield to Chelsea. I stop at locations that helped define a century of driving the historic highway. We see and pass by historic locations in Springfield, Spencer, Miller, Avilla, Carthage, Carterville, Webb City and Joplin, Missouri. Kansas covers just 13 miles, but is packed with sights in Galena and Baxter Springs. Oklahoma opens with the ghost town of Picher before passing through Commerce, Miami, Alton and Vinita. Rain cut short stops the rest of the way to Tulsa, which will be visited in the next episode.
