Koningin Máxima zorgt voor heel veel blije gezichten tijdens veelzijdig bezoek aan Heerlen

On Wednesday afternoon, 9 April, Queen Máxima travels to Limburg. Here, she pays an extensive neighbourhood visit to Heerlerbaan, the smallest district of Heerlen. Máxima's visit starts at a flower shop, where she talks with the florist and a baker about entrepreneurship and social challenges. The Queen then goes to community centre Peter Schunk for a conversation with residents and volunteers about interconnectedness. At Zorgcentrum Oranjehof, Máxima meets elderly people who tell her about their memories of the past. During the conversation, the Queen pays special attention to their personal mining and war past. Later, Máxima speaks with young locals about growing up in Heerlerbaan. The visit ends at neighbourhood centre Caumerbron, where the Queen hears all about local volunteer work and the city's traditions. After more than two hours, the visit comes to an end, and Máxima steps into the car for home. Video: © RoyalTV/Rick Evers. All rights reserved.
