Gold River BC - Highway Of Waterfalls, MV Uchuck III & Strathcona, The First Provincial Park Of BC

Gold River is a small port community on the west coast of Vancouver Island in the center of the island. Highway 28, the Gold River Highway runs from Campbell River out to the pacific ocean deep water port. We travel through Strathcona Provincial Park, British Columbia's first ever Provincial Park, and the one that started the BC parks system. The Elk Portal offers amazing views and info about the park. Just outside Gold River are a series of waterfalls that cascade down the side of the mountain and flow under the road before dropping again into the river and out to the ocean. The waterfalls are at various strengths of flow.
