We left Aracaju in Sergipe, crossed Bahia, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Rondônia, Amazonas (on BR 319), and now we're in Rio Grande do Norte, heading towards Uiramutã. Uiramutã is a municipality located in the far north of the state of Roraima, bordering Venezuela and Guyana. It is known for being the northernmost municipality in Brazil, with Mount Caburaí being the northernmost point in the country. The estimated population is 10,789 inhabitants, with low population density, according to data from the General Coordination of Health Surveillance. The name "Uiramutã" means "bird waiting place," and local history tells that the first inhabitant was Severino Pereira da Silva, known as Severino Mineiro, according to Wikipedia.
