Bus operators see rush in long distance travellers

As the June 30 deadline approaches, bus operators in Johannesburg say they are witnessing a significant increase in the number of migrants travelling to neighbouring countries. Bus operators at the Newtown Bus Station have now increased their original bus fare by a whopping R500 per person. Local transports including taxis and small trucks are also working overtime by transporting the leaving migrants to the bus stations.
