Explorando La Caja Pinta: una montaña olvidada en el desierto

In this adventure, we venture into the semi-desert of Mina, Nuevo León, to explore one of the region's most imposing and little-known mountains: La Caja Pinta, also known as Cerro del Muerto (Hill of the Dead). Along the way, we hike through dry streambeds, rocky trails, and landscapes dominated by xerophytic scrubland, braving the harsh desert climate as we ascend to a summit where the wind, sun, and terrain test every step. Along the way, we explore the flora and fauna of the semi-desert, reflecting on nature, adventure, and the value of questioning ourselves… as we traverse a mountain that has remained silent for millions of years. We also visit Boca de Potrerillos, one of the most important archaeological sites in northeastern Mexico, home to thousands of petroglyphs created by the indigenous peoples who inhabited these lands.
