Short Box Series - Side to Side on the Reformer
Short Box Side to Side is the third exercise in the Reformer Short Box Series. After we establish stability in a rounded and extended spinal position we move on to side bending! Lateral flexion preps us not only to twist, but becomes a building block as we begin to introduce more movements in a loaded spinal position. Side to Side is in the Basic Reformer Order because it teaches so much like how to connect from the feet to the seat. Sitting up higher on the box makes it easier to sit taller, especially in a lifted position. The feet being in the safety strap offer something to push out and away into, further connecting the feet with the seat. SPRING: Two outside springs, no matter the tension REPETITIONS: Three Keep tension on the safety strap throughout the exercises, and keep strap quiet Reach arms forward and up holding a pole, or interlace hands behind the head and lift up at the neck Reach up and over only so much as the waist stays long and the opposite hip stays down Bend from the spine, not the arms --- Thanks for watching!
