Custom DIY 3D Printed Algoma Central Ore Cars in HO Scale. Design, 3D Print, Paint, Decals, Details.

I have wanted an HO scale version of these "one of a kind" ore cars that Algoma Central Railway had built for them in 1971. Nobody makes a model of them, so I decided to create my own. I created a 3D model in Blender, based on guessing the dimensions from photos. I printed various versions, improving each one as I did so. I also created my own decals using a laser printer on white waterslide decal paper. Printed with an Elegoo Neptune 4. Primer and gloss black paint are simple household spray cans. Matte clear coat is Vallejo "Acrylic Matt Varnish". Weathering is a mix of Tamiya "Dark Iron" and "Red Brown". #modelrailroad #modeltrains #3dprinting
