Planning a New Layout - Study the Prototype, Evaluate your space, plan benchwork, test ideas.

Here’s the plan! In response to some viewer questions in the comments of my recent videos, I decided to show you some of my process of deciding what to include in my layout, how I plan the locations, and what some of my benchwork decisions are related to all of that. I start by talking about the prototype railroad (Algoma Central Railway), what the main industries were, and what I am hoping to include in my HO Scale Model Railroad layout. I then talk about my room, and what I have decided to do with benchwork, including incorporating a helix to allow me to use two decks. I then show how I tried to "move" various industries around in my design software, to try to make things flow the way I want them to. I end with showing the basic designs I have settled on (for now) for each of the decks.
