Principal Auditor says he should have oversight of Government-owned company accounts
The Principal Auditor believes his office should have oversight of the accounts of Government-owned companies, even if they are independently audited. Speaking on last night's Viewpoint, Phil Sharman also said he agrees with UK best-practice guidance that there should be a Public Accounts Committee, although he stressed that this would be a matter for Parliament to decide.
