We live in a traditional Okinawan kominka (Japanese old house), surrounded by the beautiful nature of Okinawa. Our family includes Mom, Dad, our baby boy Zen, our dog Koume, our cat Susu, and 11 chickens. This is our third year living here. Instead of using running water or gas, we collect rainwater, cook with firewood, and build our life with our own hands. Every morning begins with caring for our chickens, collecting fresh eggs, and preparing a wood-fired bath. Life here is busy, but it reminds us what it means to truly live.
