A slow weekend in the Catskills | garden projects, forest ponds & roads less traveled

no agenda. no script. just a weekend spent actually living. Zach shows off everything he built and fixed while I was away on a work trip, then we tackle setting up the auto water lines in the raised bed garden. After that — we just exist on the property for a while. Splitting wood, coffee on the porch, picking weeds, whatever needs doing. Then we head out to explore our backyard — a drive through Burnt-Rossman Hills State Forest to Looking Glass Pond in the Catskills, taking a road that maybe shouldn't be a road, because why not. Frankly, I'm disappointed in how little exploring we've done in our surrounding state forest. I have some time off this Summer and I think I am due for a staycation — lots of hiking, searching for swimming holes, and getting lost in upstate New York.
