Tapping Maple Trees for the First Time… We Made Burnt Sugar | Cozy Winter Mountain Vlog

Well there's a first time for everything, including making maple syrup apparently- or at least trying to. Zach showed up with grand plans of becoming the maple king of the mountain but forgot all the supplies and made the very grave error of walking away from the stove when it was almost done. We have lots of maple trees here on the property so it only makes sense that we throw ourselves into yet another hobby on our road of self sufficiency. Don't worry that 'sweet sweet tree juice' has not gone to waste and will end up on a tasty piece of BBQ in the coming months. It is definitely still Winter but the tinge of Spring is in the air and I will welcome it with open arms. I am sad to see the snow melt but I cannot wait for the daffodils and tulips to pop out of the ground and bring some color back to the yard. We love to try new things around here and they're fairly low stakes most of the time. We're not here to give y'all a tutorial on how to do any of these things but simply show you what can happen when you try! We constantly mess up, break things, don't have the right tools, and have a multitude of unfinished projects just waiting for the motivation to come back. If you're a DIY'er like us, enjoy the mountains, or are generally just looking for a few laughs, we got you! Happy to have you along for the journey of us failing until one day we succeed!
