In this video, I compare the CTEK MXS 5.0 chargers and the NOCO Genius 2 and Genius 5. CTEK is the market leader, and I've been using them for many years. I recently bought the Genius 2, followed by the Genius 5. The comparison surprised me: despite the lower price, the Genius offers some remarkable additional features. The Genius can charge lithium batteries, including deeply discharged ones, in both 6 and 12-volt systems. Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries have advantages over AGM batteries: 60-80% less weight, saving 2-3 kilograms. Higher starting current. Instead of 300, they now offer 2000 charge cycles, meaning a longer lifespan. Very low self-discharge. Installation is independent of orientation, even lying down or upside down. Lithium batteries are therefore interesting for motorcycles, although significantly more expensive. At the end of this video, relax to my song "We Are Not Machines" with some beautiful motorcycle clips. Be prepared for a surprise. Never charge lead-acid, gel, or AGM batteries using lithium mode! This will damage the lead-acid battery! The CTEK connector is called "CS ONE," and the Genius connector is called "x-Connect." They are not compatible. I couldn't find an adapter, but I made one myself. I didn't have any tools with me this time, so I couldn't connect the cables myself. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions!
