BEEF TONGSENG RECIPE INGREDIENTS: -1.5 kg Beef -Shredded Cabbage -2 Tomatoes, Cut into Pieces -2 Scallions, Cut into Pieces -Sufficient Water -Sufficient Cooking Oil GROUND SPICES: -10 Cloves of Shallots -20 Cloves of Garlic -Large Red Chilies/Bird's Eye Chilies to Taste -2 Knots of Ginger -6 Candlenuts (Optional) -1 1/2 tsp Pepper Powder -1 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder -1 tsp Nutmeg Powder OTHER SPICES: -2 Lemongrass Stalks (Crushed/Powdered) -6 Lime Leaves, Torn -2 Bay Leaves -1 tsp Salt or to Taste -2 tsp Healthy Sugar -1 tsp Stock Powder 1/2 tsp -5 tbsp sweet soy sauce or to taste SPRAYING INGREDIENTS: -Fried shallots ADDITIONAL INGREDIENTS (Optional): -Raw shallots, thinly sliced -Bird's eye chilies, chopped to taste COOKING DIRECTIONS: -Heat oil in a pan and sauté the ground spices along with lemongrass, lime leaves, and bay leaves. Sauté until the spices are cooked through. -Add the beef pieces and cook until they change color. -Add water, salt, sugar, and bouillon powder. Then boil the meat until tender. -Add sweet soy sauce and cook briefly. -Add cabbage and sweet soy sauce if needed. -Add tomatoes and sliced spring onions, cook briefly, then turn off the heat. -Serve in a bowl and sprinkle with fried shallots, raw shallots, and chopped chilies.
