Plumbridge LOL No. 560 - A Day of Local Pride in the Sperrins

Plumbridge LOL 560 Parade – #BrianBoruPipeBand #SinclairMemorialPipeBand #StrawletterdallonPipeBand I’ve always wanted to visit the small Sperrin village of Plumbridge to watch a parade, and today the Local Plumbridge LOL No. 560 finally held one. The parade commission listed four bands, and I was delighted to see that all four turned up: Plumbridge Brian Boru Pipe Band, Sinclair Memorial Pipe Band, Strawletterdallon Pipe Band & Eden Defenders Flute Band The parade itself was short but full of character. Not far along the route, the village was packed with locals attending the GAA football match, two traditions side by side, each doing its own thing without any trouble or tension. It was genuinely refreshing to see that level of mutual respect. A pity the rest of the country can’t always show the same acceptance of each other.
