Celtic Steamers – The Great Northern Road Run (Part 3) The Celtic Steamers are a group of magnificent traction engines visiting Northern Ireland for a special road journey. Their route begins at the Omagh Showgrounds, where the engines fire up and prepare for the big event. From there, they travel into the heart of Omagh via High Street, where they’ll be on public display for a few hours before heading out along the Gortin Road toward Gortin Glen Forest Park. The following day, the engines continue into Gortin Glen itself, then onward to Gortin Village, giving locals a chance to see these historic machines up close. Their final leg takes them over the Sperrins toward Plumbridge, where the journey concludes. The first video shows the engines warming up in the yard at Omagh Showgrounds, just before the big run begins. The 2nd Video shows the Steam Engines themselves travelling along the Great Northern Road, where the mighty Steam Trains once travelled, then up Omagh High Street, then into the Hotel Rue Carpark, where they stayed for a few hours so locals could view them. In this 3rd Video, it shows the Traction Engines leaving the Hotel Rue Carpark, then heading back onto the High Street before heading out of the Town Centre towards the Gortin Road.
