Omagh Protestant Boys – 50th Anniversary Parade | 2026 This year the Omagh Protestant Boys Flute Band celebrated their 50th Anniversary, marking the occasion with a major parade through their home town. A huge crowd turned out to watch, and the atmosphere was brilliant from start to finish. For Luna, though, it was a different story. With so many bands taking part, the noise and the crowds were a bit much for her, so near the end I took her up above the car park where she could free‑range and cool off. From up there, I ended up with what’s probably the closest thing to a drone‑style view I’ll ever get, a great vantage point to watch the final bands pass by. One unusual thing about this parade was that no National Anthem was played at the end. I’m not sure why, so if you know the reason, feel free to leave a comment below.
