Synopsis Production: Ei Eiga-sha (British Film Company) Planning: Hazama-gumi (Hazama Construction) 1961, Color, 20 minutes This film documents the construction of the Oshiage Station on the Tokyo Metropolitan Subway Line 1. A key feature of this film is the construction work to connect the Keisei Electric Railway to Subway Line 1. The construction utilized both caisson and open-cut tunneling methods. The platform was designed to accommodate four lines simultaneously (both up and down) for through service with the Keisei Electric Railway. Unlike conventional subways, it was the first subway line in Japan to use a pantograph system.
