Funeral without Cofin-2/Speech by Govt.Wangkhao colleg;Family members&Last ritual by Rev.Moba Pastor

on 19th Sunday Morning around 6-6:30 am the people of Thamnan woke up hearing terrible news that the landslides have swept away the whole area of Defence Colony Thamnan ward. 11 houses were completely destroyed or swept away or buried under mud and stones, and many house were partially destroyed and properties worth lakhs of rupees were destroyed. Saddest report was that 8 people were missing and one person who was half submerged in the mud was rescued by a brave neighbour though the mud was still flowing. 2 more in the spot managed to flee though one of them was severely injured on head and leg(8 stitches each). The search party - SDRF, Mon Police, Assam Rifles and local volunteers with the support of District administration and KU, KSU, KNSK etc have given their best with all available means to locate the dead bodies. They could locate only 6 out of 8 bodies. 1 from ChenMoho; 2 from Pongkong village; 3 from Oting village. But despite giving all their efforts for 6 days even at night on the last day the two remaining bodies from Longkei village could not be located. So today, the families of the deceased in collaboration with the ward and Longkei union conducted mass funeral service in the presence of the district administration and all apex body of Konyak civil societies etc
