I confess it had been a long time since a house had surprised me like this. I arrived to see a renovation and left completely enchanted after visiting the architect Marcel Steiner. It's hard to believe that this house was once small, dark, and full of rooms. Today it seems to breathe. Light enters from all sides, the wind blows through the spaces, gardens appear in the most unexpected places, and everything conveys a feeling of lightness. The most beautiful thing is that nothing seems to have been done to impress. Every choice makes sense. You can see that there is a lot of affection, care, and love in every detail. The cuisine is immediately captivating. There's a red striped ceiling that makes the space fun, a super charming stove, a delicate garden bringing life indoors, and an atmosphere that makes you want to sit down, have a coffee, and stay there without any hurry. The staircase has become a true sculpture in the living room. The furniture shows how good design never loses its beauty. And the bathrooms... ah, the bathrooms! These are the kinds of spaces that make you think, "Why can't I bring more personality to my home?" I'm sure these paintings on the walls will inspire many people. And when I thought the visit had shown me everything, I went up another floor and found a delightful terrace, one of those that completely changes the way you live in a house. But, above all, it shows something I increasingly believe in: good architecture isn't the one that attracts the most attention. It's the one that makes you feel good.
