Open data maturity in Europe 2025: progress, best practices, and key insights

In this data.europa academy webinar, we will open the session with an introduction to the Open Data Maturity assessment, guiding participants through the methodology, the four dimensions of the assessment -  policy, portal, quality and impact - and main findings of the 2025 report. Building on this overview, Alicia Nieto Ramos, working at the Spanish Ministry for Digital Transformation and the Civil Service, will share Spain’s experience with the Iniciativa Aporta, explaining how national strategy, a strong open data portal and a focus on impact have strengthened Spain’s open data maturity. Thanh Ha Le from the Interministerial Directorate for Digital Affairs at data.gouv.fr will then highlight insights from France, focusing on practical approaches to increase open data impact and reuse.
