Joe's lane. ABOUT VOLCANO CATS Volcano Cats is a Bay Area family rock band — Joe Young (7) on drums and his dad Michael on guitar. Joe started playing at age 3 and was completely self-taught off YouTube until age 6, learning by watching Foo Fighters, Iron Maiden, Baroness, The Cult, the Ramones, Weezer, and Halestorm. He's now 70+ songs deep and runs full sets at county fairs, festivals, school assemblies, and clubs across the Bay. ABOUT THIS SONG "Holiday" was released by Green Day in 2005 on American Idiot — the rock opera that took the East Bay punk trio from beloved to era-defining. The album was written about ninety minutes from where we live. Green Day formed in Berkeley in 1987 and still rehearses in the Bay. Volcano Cats is also a Berkeley band. The lineage runs short on this one.
