About this Talk (Spanish) In this talk, Alejandra Peña reminds us that change begins with ourselves. We all have the capacity to rise up, but we must break paradigms to learn. Alejandra and her team concluded that education and human development are what is needed to transform our educational system, which educates well-rounded individuals capable of being the Agents of Change of tomorrow. The world needs us to unleash our full human potential! About the Speaker (Spanish) Alejandra Peña Pous holds a Master's degree in social development and poverty. She has confirmed that alternative education through systemic projects is a means to combat major global problems such as poverty, migration, health, and human rights, among others. She advocates that simply wanting to help is not enough; rather, it is essential to know how to do it effectively through projects that transform reality. She is currently the director of Mayama A.C. organization committed to children in Mexico in vulnerable situations where they are supported with an innovative, high-quality education model that contributes to combating poverty and violence, achieving comprehensive development. About TEDxZapopan The goal of TEDxZapopan is to connect the agents of change in our community and discuss the ideas and solutions of the most pressing challenges our society faces. The focus of our second event was "The Power of Purpose". More than 20 change agents and representatives of different NGO's from Guadalajara have shared their insights, experiences and ideas with the local community and inspired the collaboration to confront the major social issues we are facing (i.e. from environment, education, social integration up to the infinite possibilities of people with handicaps).
