SHOW DETAILS Show: Mehboob’s Kitchen Host: Mehboob Date: 16 April 2026 Channel: Masala TV RECIPES FEATURED • Creamy Potato Salad Ingredients: • Boiled egg – 1 • Potatoes – 1 kg • Mayonnaise – 2 tablespoons • Green onions (chopped) – ⅓ cup • Red onion (chopped) – 3 tablespoons • Salt – ¼ teaspoon • Black pepper (ground) – ¼ teaspoon • Mayonnaise – 1 cup • Mustard paste – 2 tablespoons Method: In a saucepan, add ⅓ cup of water and bring it to a boil. Cut the potatoes into 1-inch cubes. Add them to the pan, cover, and boil. Then reduce to medium heat and cook for another 10 minutes. In a medium bowl, mix the remaining ingredients together. Add the cooked potatoes to the mixture. Peel and chop the boiled egg, then add it to the potatoes and mix well. • Khajoor ka halwa Ingredients: • Dates – ½ kg • Milk – 2 liters • Sugar – 2 kg • Chana dal (boiled) – ½ seer (approx. 250 grams) • Ghee (clarified butter) – 1 seer (approx. 250 grams) • Kewra essence – 4 teaspoons • Cardamom – 5–6 pods • Almonds – 2 tablespoons • Pistachios – 2 tablespoons Method: Wash the dates and remove the seeds. Clean the chana dal and soak it in milk. Then boil it until the dal becomes soft, and cook until the milk dries up. Remove from heat. Grind the cooked dal and mash the dates, then mix them together. In a wok (karahi), add ghee, the dal-date mixture, and sugar, and cook until the moisture evaporates. Add cardamom and kewra essence, then remove from heat. Finally, garnish with almonds and pistachios, and serve. • Rajasthani Kadhi Ingredients: For Pakoras: Gram flour– ½ cup Green chilies (chopped) – 2–3 Red chili powder – ¼ teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain, crushed) – ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder – ¼ teaspoon Coriander powder – ¼ teaspoon Baking powder – ⅓ teaspoon Oil – for frying Salt – to taste Water – ¼ cup (as needed for batter) For Kadhi: Boiled rice – 1 cup Sour yogurt – 2 cups Gram flour– 2 tablespoons Cumin seeds – ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder – ½ teaspoon Red chili powder – ½ teaspoon Ginger (finely chopped) – 1-inch piece Curry leaves – 10–12 Oil – 2–3 tablespoons Salt – to taste Method: To make pakoras, mix gram flour, green chilies, red chili powder, crushed ajwain, turmeric, coriander powder, baking powder, and salt with ¼ cup water to form a batter. Heat oil and fry spoonfuls of the batter until golden. Remove and set aside. For the kadhi, whisk yogurt with gram flour, salt, and turmeric until smooth. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds and let them splutter. Add green chilies and chopped ginger, and sauté. Then add curry leaves, red chili powder, and the yogurt mixture. Cook while stirring continuously until the kadhi thickens. Finally, add the fried pakoras.
