Firefighters, paramedics, and police are on site. [ --- According to current information, a truck trailer caught fire in the Engelberg Tunnel at approximately 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday (March 3, 2026) for reasons that are still unclear. The fire department has begun firefighting operations and the flames are currently under control. The tunnel tubes are currently being ventilated by the fire department. The trailer is presumably loaded with electrical equipment. According to current information, two people sustained minor injuries, and no one is currently inside the tunnel. The closures will remain in effect until further notice.
