Destination... Gemfields | Wreckage, Rivers & Fortunes to Find

Leaving the towering cliffs of Carnarvon Gorge, we head deeper into outback Queensland in search of history, remote tracks, and a hidden piece of aviation tragedy. Our journey takes us to a remote plane wreck, a stark reminder of how unforgiving this country can be, before rolling into Rolleston and crossing the historic Comet River—named by Ludwig Leichhardt after witnessing a comet blaze across the sky in 1844. From there, we continue through Springsure and into the heart of Queensland’s gem country, arriving in Rubyvale—home of the famous sapphire fields. This leg of the journey is all about raw landscapes, outback history, and the tracks that connect it all. 👍 Don’t forget to like and subscribe for more episodes as we continue retracing parts of Leichhardt’s journey across Queensland 🏍 Two Up Travels 📍 Exploring North Queensland 🧭 Inspired by History #NorthQueensland #Leichhardt #AustralianHistory #TwoUpTravel #AdventureRiding#motorcycleadventure #2up #pillion #notgreynomads #couplevlog #overlandertwoup #overlanderadventure #motorcycletravel #adventuretravel #longformcontent #overlanding #motorcycletwoupadventures #motorcycleadventure #twoupmotorcycling #twoup#adventuretravel #yamaha #tenere #supertenere#adventuretravel #rolleston #backroads #dirtroads #twouptravel#explorers #australiahistory #australiatravel #carnarvongorge #expeditionnationalpark #springsure #dakotawreckage #willowsgemfields #sapphire #rubyvale #qldgemfields #gemfields
