MOLICEL P50B (& P45B) UPDATE // HUGE PRICE DROPS, LESS CAPACITY

Since June of this year, I've spent over 300 hours extensively testing the most popular high-power 21700 cells: Molicel P50B Molicel P45B Molicel P42A Ampace JP40 (LT 22710LA) EVE 40PL BAK 45D Lishen LR2170LA EVE 40P Samsung 40T Samsung 50S And more When I first produced the big Molicel P50B test video, the cell's test results left me a little disappointed. Thinking maybe I had an underperforming sample, I mentioned the results would be updated as soon as I had more cell samples (from different batches) available to test. Finally, they are here! In Part 1, I tested 3 more P50B samples and show the results in this video (the spreadsheet is updated too). In Part 2, you'll see some VERY exiciting news (if you're a battery builder, or plan to buy a battery pack soon) about price drops for not only the P50B, but also the P45B and P42A. You can now get these cells for amazingly low prices. In Part 3, I show that all is not perfect in Molicel land, however... I test every Molicel 21700 I have here (all 3 models) down to the abusive, but factory-spec'd voltage of 2.5v, and show that NONE of them met their advertised capacity. (Yes, ambient temp for most tests was about 22C, not the ideal 25-27C, but still that shouldn't make a huge difference.) Finally in Part 4, you'll see how Molicel has maybe shifted thieir marketing approach for the P50B from more power, to more cycle life than the P45B due to less heat gain.
